An Amtrak train collided with a pickup truck and derailed. None of the passengers on the train were injured and the condition of the driver was not immediately known.
The crash took place in Plant City at around 3:15 P.M. and all the passengers were evacuated near a bowling alley. The train was coming from Miami and was on its way to New York.
The spokeswomen from Amtrak reported that the train hit a concrete truck, but Hillsborough Fire Rescue said when they investigated that they found a pickup truck. Not much of the truck was left, which made identification more difficult.
This has been the second train accident in the area in the just over a day. On Monday a train collided with a car, and all four passengers were killed.
